FAQ

I have been photographing newborns for over 5 years now, and although some babies may take a little persuasion at the beginning of the session, they have all, always settled really well to enable me to get you a beautiful full gallery of images. I have picked up many techniques over the years, and truth be told...my session plan ensures babies fall into a comfy sleep within the first 20-30 minutes. The important 3 things I run by are...my studio is toasty and warm, the babies have just fed, and I have wrapped them up nice and snug for their first few shots. So please don't let this put you off booking a newborn photoshoot. Nearly all of my parents are always surprised at how settled baby is during their photoshoot x
This depends on the session you want to book. Please go to my Pricing & Information page to view the various sessions and their prices.
I advise booking whilst you are pregnant, usually around your 5 month scan. We will book for when baby is between 5 and 21 days old (the earlier the better).
Newborn Sessions generally last between 2 and 4 hours (usually around 2) - Mini Sessions last up to 1 hour - Family Sessions last up to 1 hour - Cake Smash Sessions generally last between 1-2 hours - Older Newborn Sessions generally last between 1-2 hours - Bump 2 Baby (Maternity Session up to 1 hour, Newborn between 2-4 hours)
For all sessions (apart from Mini Sessions) you are invited back to view your gallery at a Viewing & Ordering Appointment. When your session ends, we will pencil you in the diary for your Viewing & Ordering session, where you will select your desired collection.  **If you are purchasing the digital collection up front, then you do not need to attend a Viewing Session as I will present you with all your images on a beautiful usb device within 7-14 days from payment.  Your Viewing Appointment which will be arranged within 7-14 days of your session date.  At your appointment you will view your entire gallery on a beautiful slideshow. You can comfortably sit and go through your images to select your favourites and discuss any wall art requirements if you wish.  All products and images chosen are to be purchased at this time.  I have an à la carte product menu where you can choose additional items.
Newborn Safety is my absolute priority. I have trained extensively in this genre of photography and specialise in it. There is always a supporting hand on or very close to your baby during the session. I have learnt to read how newborns are feeling, so no poses are ever forced, and if your baby doesn't feel comfortable then I will move onto the next pose. For more complex poses I use Photoshop to combine images and edit out supporting hands etc. I have two children of my own and I completely understand how you will be wary of keeping your precious new bundle safe and happy.
I will send you over a preparation guide before your session. This will give you lots of advice.
I would recommend trying to stay away from these foods for at least 24 hours prior to baby’s photoshoot, to help alleviate baby’s wind/gas include the following: chocolates spices such as cinnamon, garlic, curry, chili and pepper citrus fruits and their juices, like oranges, lemons, limes, and grapefruit strawberries kiwifruit pineapple the “gassy” veggies such as onion, cabbage, garlic, cauliflower, broccoli, cucumbers, and peppers; and fruits with a laxative effect, such as cherries and prunes
